Arrangements for the Labor Day demonstration in this city by the members of the Industrial Workers of the world are fast nearing completion. Eugene V. Debbs [Debs] and the other prominent speakers have wired they will be in attendance sure.
Debbs and Daniel Deleon will speak in the afternoon and in the morning, Vincent St. John and Charles O. Sherman the latter who has been here a number of times previous to this occasion will speak.
The day will be featured with base ball and other forms of amusements. The local I. W. W. expect 20,000 to attend. Special trains will be run from Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania.
The big celebration will be held for the express purpose of protesting against the unlawful imprisonment of Moyer, Haywood and Pettibone. Protests will be filed and will be forwarded to Idaho and Colorado.
The I. W. W. is but a year or two old [one year and one month] but it gives promise of being one of the strongest organizations of its kind.
Speakers have been in New Castle for the past several nights lecturing on the streets and great interest has been created. The local I. W. W. was organized only a few months ago. The membership has steadily increased. Practically all of the big Socialists of the country will be in New Castle on Labor Day. It will be one of the biggest meetings of its kind ever held in Pennsylvania.
